Man Who Gave Alcohol to Affton Youth Christopher Marks to be Sentenced Today

Todd Combs was the only adult present when the 12-year-old boy drowned.

Update: Sentencing has bee moved to July.

The man accused of supplying alcohol to seven minors, including Affton 12-year-old Christopher Marks, will be sentenced today, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports. Marks was Combs’ stepson.

Marks drowned in the Meramec River, while Todd Combs, 43, was the only adult present with Marks and six other minors. Combs faces seven counts of second-degree child endangerment. He pleaded guilty last month to all seven charges.

The boy’s body was found by Combs six miles down river of where he was last seen on a rope swing.

Christopher was enrolled to attend Rogers Middle School in Affton as a seventh grader. He would have turned 13-years-old on September 21.
