Mother Indicted in Tyler Dasher Murder
Shelby Dasher was indicted by a grand jury on charges of second-degree murder and child abuse.
Shelby Dasher, the Affton mother accused of killing her infant son last November, was indicted Monday by a grand jury on charges of second-degree murder and child abuse.
Dasher, 20, because he wouldn't stop crying, then dumping the body at the edge of a cemetary near River Des Peres and faking his abduction. When she reported him missing the next morning, . But the efforts ended in tragedy when passersby found the child's body less than a mile from Dasher's house at 7730 Clevedon St. Police say she later confessed.
The original charge was second-degree murder, but STLToday reported that the grand jury saw probable cause to add a charge of child abuse. A scheduling conference has now been set for April 2.

Earlier this week Dasher's public defender, Tara Crane, , aruging that the prosecution should not continue to keep Dasher in jail if they do not proceed with the case in a timely manner. Dasher has been in jail since her arrest on Nov. 16.
