Mugs in the News: The Faces that Made This Week's Crime Headlines

The following mug shots were taken from various Patch crime reports between July 14 through July 20.

Information for Mugs in the News is provided by the  and St. Louis County law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.

Well, if it's any help, I'm in the Brentwood patch and I'm seeing them all. I'm guessing that the individual patch editors can subscribe to stories from other patches?

Bill, Kathy and Jim - Each Patch has an editor that makes the content decisions, and yes, content can be shared, such as "Mugs in the News."

Im just glad to see a larger mix of photo's. But having said that and having access to a larger file of current criminals, it is my opinion that someone is picking and choosing both race and crime. So I am calling the patch out with a simple question. Why are we not getting the full mix without editing? Respectfully submitted.

Hi Christopher, the photos above are taken from various Patch crime reports around the greater St. Louis area. They represent a specific date span, and since Patch primarily reports only on crimes within the communities we cover in the area, that could be why it appears to you that they've been hand-selected. Other than those factors, there was no picking or choosing involved. Thanks for your comment!

Samantha Lay 17 going on 50. That's not going to end well. Frank Fuchs, now there's a serious loser. Lots of faces of meth. What in the world is the attraction to that stuff? Anyway, I wish we had another planet to deploy all these individuals to. Oh, and the guy who pulled the trigger but the gun didn't fire, he deserves attempted murder at the least. The victim will be scarred for life.
