Police Blotter: Bank Robbery and Stolen Costume Jewelry

Our weekly summary of incidents handled by the Shrewsbury Police Department and the Affton precinct of the St. Louis County Police.

Friday, March 18

The located at 7435 Watson Road in Shrewsbury was robbed by a suspect was described as a black male, 30 to 40 years of age and approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded coat that was covering his face, blue jeans and black shoes. The suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money.

A cell phone, iPod and GPS unit were stolen from an unlocked car in the 9200 block of Confederacy Drive in Sappington.

In the 7800 block of Olde English Road, a vehicle had its window smashed and car stereo and speakers stolen.

A PlayStation 3 console, Nintendo Wii console and televsion were stolen by an employee at a business on the 9300 block of Gravois Road.

Saturday, March 19

The rear window of a 2003 GMC Envoy was shattered while it was parked in the 7700 block of Bellstone Road in Shrewsbury.

A jewelry box containing miscellaneous jewelry was reportedly stolen from a home last month in the 5000 block of Peyton Place Court in Concord. The victim suspects their daughter or her friends.

A Caterpillar track loader and another piece of construction equipment were reportedly stolen earlier this month from a construction site in the 13100 block of Tesson Ferry Road in Oakville.

Monday, March 21

In the 9600 block of Castanet Court in Sappington, a woman’s ex-boyfriend struck her new boyfriend with his car, then fled. He was later arrested and admitted to the crime.

Copper pressure release pipes for five water heaters were reportedly stolen the week before from an apartment complex in the 8900 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Affton.

Tuesday, March 22

In the 4800 block of Mohegan Drive, a vehicle window was smashed and a wallet, GPS unit and iPod were stolen.

A vehicle was stopped by Shrewsbury police on eastbound Interstate 44 for speeding. Further investigations revealed that the driver was in possession of marijuana. The driver was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

A Shrewsbury police officer witnessed a vehicle hit a curb at the intersection of Shrewsbury Avenue and Murdoch Avenue. The vehicle sustained two flat tires as result of the accident.  Upon making contact, the officer determined that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and charged with improper lane use, driving while suspended and driving while intoxicated.

Wednesday March 23

A juvenile girl was caught stealing cell phones, money and a hat from a locker room at a business at 11133 Lindbergh Business Court in Green Park.

Thursday, March 24

A customer’s wallet was reported stolen from a business located at 7435 Watson Road. The customer left her purse in a shopping cart while she shopped and later discovered her wallet missing when she went to pay.

A car stereo, GPS unit and costume jewelry were stolen from a vehicle that had its window smashed in the 4100 block of Grasso Avenue in Affton.

A gray 2005 Dodge Ram with license plate 4KJ203 was stolen from Ronnie’s Plaza in Sappington.
