Police Blotter: Tire Robberies and Gym Thefts

The weekly Affton and Shrewsbury police blotter for Dec. 17-23.

  • In Affton, a laptop was reported stolen at the intersection of Gravois Road and Oldenburg Avenue.

Saturday, Dec. 18

  • A burglary was reported on the 8200 block of Morganford Road in Affton, but apparently nothing was taken.
  • Police were called to an incident assault using a vehicle at the intersection of Bayless Avenue and Union Road in Affton.
  • Tires were stolen from the at 5655 Lindbergh Blvd. in Concord.
  • Shrewsbury Police arrested a South County man on I-44 on charges of speeding and marijuana possession. After obtaining a search warrant for a locked brief case in the vehicle, police report finding marijuana packaged for distribution and a large amount of cash. The man was further charged with intent to distribute.
  • Shrewsbury police investigated the theft of a wallet, likely from the at 7435 Watson Road. The credit cards in the stolen wallet were used to make over $700 in fraudulent purchases.

Sunday, Dec. 19

  • Prescription medication and electronics were stolen in a burglary on the 9700 block of Pauline Place in Affton.
  • Copper piping and household goods were taken in a burglary on the 7400 block of Cheshire Lane in Affton.

Monday, Dec. 20

  • Credit card devices were stolen from a business on the 5400 block of Lindbergh Boulevard in Affton.
  • There was another theft at the Power House Gym in Shrewsbury, this time from a car in the parking lot which had its door handle damaged. A purse was stolen, along with a cell phone and digital camera and keys.
  • Valuable coins were reported stolen on Dorclin Lane in Concord.

Tuesday, Dec. 21

  • Tires were also stolen from the Jim Butler South County Auto Center at 11157 Lindbergh Business Court in Green Park.

Thursday, Dec. 23

  • A safe with cash and credit cards was taken in a burglary on the 9300 block of Green Park Road in Green Park.
  • Shrewsbury Police are seeking a 1990 Dodge Spirit with license plate PA6D0H in connection with theft of two subwoofers and an amplifier from a parked vehicle in the neighborhood of the 7600 block of Suffolk Ave. The car had been reported stolen on Nov. 29.
