Police: Man Confesses to Stealing Chemical Used in Meth

The arrest happened less than three weeks after the theft at a factory, the Shrewsbury Police Department reported.

A Jefferson County man has confessed to stealing a chemical used to make methamphetamine from a Shrewsbury factory, the Shrewsbury Police Department reported.

The man was arrested Sept. 21 in connection with the theft of an anhydrous ammonia tank from Carr Lane Manufacturing, 4200 Carr Lane. The incident happened shortly after midnight on Sept. 3.

The man is suspected of having broken into the loading dock and taken the tank from a storage area, police said.

Felony theft charges were pending a case review by the St. Louis County prosecutor's office.
