Police: Pit Bull Owner Cited, Man Leaves Accident Scene

The dog owner also didn't have an occupancy permit, police said.

Shrewsbury Police Department officials handled the following incidents earlier this month. The department provides this information as part of the weekly crime blotter:

September 16
A resident of the 7700 block of Suffolk Avenue received a citation at 10 a.m. for owning a pit bull, which is a banned dog breed; for not having a dog license; and for not having an occupancy permit.

September 17
A person left the scene of a traffic accident that happened at 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Shrewsbury and Sutherland avenues. The driver is described as a 5-foot-6 African-American man in his 40s. He drove a 2000 Ford Windstar with a damaged front bumper and license plate No. PCOS9T.
