Police: Man Steals Credit Card from Hospital, Buys $200 in Cigarettes

Shrewsbury Police responded to the following incidents this month, according to the weekly police blotter:

On December 14, police arrested a Marlborough man who used a stolen credit card, police said. The credit card was stolen from a patient at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. The suspect used the card on Nov. 28 to purchase $189.92 of cigarette cartons at Phil Mart, 7250 Lansdowne Ave.

On December 15, police arrested a Village of Mackenzie man on suspicion of causing an automobile accident and driving while intoxicated. The front bumper of the suspect’s car struck the rear bumper of another car stopped at the red light at Watson Road and Mackenzie Road. The suspect’s breath sample was measured at .174 percent.

On December 16, police arrested a Webster Groves woman on suspicion of driving while intoxicated on westbound I-44 near Shrewsbury Ave. The woman was failing to drive within a single lane of traffic, police said. The suspect’s breath sample was measured at .092% and she was issued citations to appear in municipal court.

On December 17, a license plate was reported missing from a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in the 7100 block of Murdoch Ave.

On December 24, police were called to a domestic disturbance on Keswick Place at 3:15 a.m. A woman told police she was concerned that her former boyfriend, who was intoxicated, would harm himself after she told him she no longer wanted to be in a relationship, police said. Police responded to the apartment but could not find the man. On Dec. 26, police were able to contact the man and provide him with proper counseling services.
