Updated: Teen Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in Affton

St. Louis County Police said the injuries weren't life threatening.

A teenager suffered non-life threatening injuries aftering being struck by a car Wednesday afternoon in Affton.

The 13-year-old was walking westbound on General Sherman Lane around 4:30 p.m. when he was struck, St. Louis County Police Department spokesman Randy Vaughn said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but Vaughn said his injuries weren't life-threatening.

Vaughn could not confirm the age or identity of the driver Thursday afternoon. No charges have been filed against the driver pending an investigation, he added.

"If there is a licensing issue, [authorities] would definitely be issuing tickets," he said.Β
