Robberies at Gunpoint in Affton: One Real, One Fake

The St. Louis County Police Department’s Affton Precinct investigated two robberies at gunpoint, one of which was fabricated by the “victim,” police said.

Officers with the St. Louis County Police Department’s Affton Precinct investigated two robberies at gunpoint last month, one of which turned out to be made up.

A person reported being robbed of cash and a cell phone by a suspect with a gun in the 9400 block of Alpine Drive on August 22.

“Investigation returned that this incident was fabricated by the ‘victim,’” police wrote in the weekly blotter report.

Just two days before, police handled a robbery at gunpoint in the 700 block of Union Road. The victim was robbed of a cell phone, cash and car keys.
