Shrewsbury Police: Accidental Drowning on Devonshire

The incident was among those the Shrewsbury Police Department investigated in the second week of March.

Thursday, March 7

  • A St. Louis man was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop on Laclede Station Road near Kenrick Manor Drive. He was issued summonses to appear in Shrewsbury Municipal Court for traffic violations, including driving with a suspended license.
  • A Ballwin man was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop on Shrewsbury Avenue near the I-44 overpass. The man was issued summonses to appear in Shrewsbury Municipal Court for traffic violations, including speeding, no insurance, and no driver’s license.
  • Officers responded to 50XX Michael for a Domestic Disturbance involving two brothers involved in a physical altercation. Both subjects were arrested for various charges including Assault on an Officer, Resisting Arrest and Domestic Assault.

  • An officer responded to 73XX Devonshire for a report of a possible drowning. The victim was found in the swimming pool at the residence.  Preliminary autopsy results indicate “accidental drowning” as the cause of death, and there were no signs of foul play at the scene.
  • A Chillicothe man was issued summonses to appear in court after a traffic stop on westbound I-44 near Shrewsbury Avenue. The man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was in possession of marijuana and attempted to conceal it in his underwear. The driver of the vehicle was issued a warning for vehicle registration and insurance violations.
