Graffiti Found, Man Arrested After Chase

Shrewsbury Police Department supplied the following information in their police blotter. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

handled two graffiti incidents last week on Arlington Avenue, even chasing and arresting one man found at the scene of the crime.

On June 23, Police responded to the 7700 block of Arlington Ave. after being called to investigate a suspect spray-painting graffiti on a parked Burlington Northern train, according to the police blotter.

The suspect resisted arrest and moved away from the railroad tracks after police arrived, according to the blotter. He was arrested in the 7700 block of Suffolk Ave. Police charged the New Haven man with property damage, trespassing, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

On June 27, neighbors noticed graffiti on a street sign and a car in the 7500 block of Arlington Ave, according to the blotter.

A witness saw a person exit a Pontiac Bonneville with a back pack between midnight and 1 a.m. the night before the graffiti was reported.Β
