Shrewsbury Police Blotter: 5 AC Units Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Friday, Nov. 11

Police investigated a damaged street sign on Laclede Station Road, near Kenrick Manor Drive. A license plate was left at scene of the accident, but the vehicle left the area without notifying anyone of the damaged street sign. Police traced the plate to a Ballwin woman. Ballwin Police went by the home twice and finally contacted the woman. She turned herself into Shrewsbury Police, and she was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.

A resident of the 5000 block of Hi View Drive reported that he purchased a stolen Motorola Droid 2 Verizon wireless cellphone via Craigslist. After exchanging electronic mail messages with the seller, the buyer agreed to meet the seller at a Walgreens parking lot in North St. Louis County. After he purchased the cellphone for $125, the buyer tried to activate the phone the next day, but Verizon informed him that it was reported as a lost or stolen phone and it could not be activated.

Sunday, Nov. 13

At 1:50 p.m. Shrewsbury police responded to a disturbance on the parking lot of Flowerama, 7728 Big Bend Blvd. Two motorists got into a verbal argument in the parking lot over a difference of opinion regarding the way each of them were driving on northbound Laclede Station Road. One of the motorists bumped into the other motorist, got into her car and left the area. The woman eventually was located and turned herself into police. The report was forwarded to the local prosecutor to be reviewed for possible assault charges.

Monday, Nov. 14

Shrewsbury police arrested a man from Cape Girardeau in the 7500 block of Big Bend Boulevard after a suspicious person call was received by a local business. A pedestrian check was performed, and two types of drug paraphernalia were seized. The man was arrested and issued citations to appear in municipal court.

Police investigated the theft of two rooftop air-conditioning units and three ground based air-conditioning units at a business area in the 7500 block of Ravensridge Drive. The thefts were reported on Nov. 14, and it is believed that the air-conditioning units were stolen sometime within the past two weeks.

Police recovered two bicycles behind a business at 7259 Lansdowne Ave. One of the bikes is a red-and-gray Schwinn Mountain bike. The other bike is a brown Haro. Please respond to the Shrewsbury Police Department to claim your bike. Proper documentation required.

Thursday, Nov. 17

A Kirkwood man was arrested for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop (speeding 71 mph in a 60 mph zone) on eastbound Interstate 44 near Shrewsbury Avenue.
