Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Bicyclist Hit on Landsdowne Ave.

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Friday, April 6

A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at 11:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Landsdowne Ave. The bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Lansdowne Ave. in dark clothing and was not wearing any reflective clothing or a helmet when he entered the Murdoch Cut Off intersection.  A vehicle traveling west on Lansdowne Ave. tried to make a left turn into the Phillips 66 gas station when the bike struck the front of his vehicle.  The motorist told police he activated his turn signal and did not see the bicyclist approaching.  The bicyclist was taken to a near-by hospital for observation and released the following morning. Police are investigating the incident.

Police responded to the reported theft of a credit card and a firearm from a residence in the 7400 block of Murdoch Ave at 11 a.m. There was no forced entry into the home and the homeowner believes an acquaintance took both items. She is being sought for questioning.

A tank with chemicals was stolen from Carr Lane Manufacturing early Sunday morning but was later recovered by police in Jefferson County. Survelliance cameras indicate that two white males entered the property at approximately 5:16 a.m. A and an investigation is ongoing. 

Monday, April 9

Two licenses platers were reported stolen from a 2006 Honda Accord while it was parked in the 7700 block of Charing Square. The theft took place sometime over the weekend.
