Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Cheese Sauce Spilled in Disturbance

Sunday, November 27

Shrewsbury police are investigating the theft of a credit card from an unlocked truck parked in the 7600 block of Weil Avenue. The theft took place sometime between Nov. 27 after 7 p.m. and prior to Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. The card was used at several stores in the St. Louis metro area. A receipt of a purchase made by the suspect was located in a wallet that was turned into St. Louis City Police after it was dropped at a Metro Link station.  Police are seeking the man for questioning about this incident.

A man from South St. Louis City was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop for an expired plate in the 7200 block of Lansdowne Avenue.

A 2002 Lexus sustained damage to the driver side of the vehicle as it was parked in the 7200 block of Nottingham Avenue. The striking vehicle left the scene without exchanging insurance information. This report was filed on Dec. 3, and the damage took place overnight on Nov. 27.

Sunday, December 4

Update: Shrewsbury police arrested a Maplewood man for leaving the scene of two Accidents. The suspect drove a stolen Nissan that knocked down a street light pole in the 7400 block of Sutherland Avenue and damaged the driver side read view mirror of a 1998 Chrysler Sebring on Nov. 22. Formal felony charges are pending a review by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.

Police investigated a case of peace disturbance and harassment in the 7800 block of Ravensridge Road. The boyfriend of a resident of the apartment complex caused a disturbance by attempting to enter the neighbor’s apartment without permission, looking through the mailbox slot, and repeatedly knocking on the neighbor’s door complaining about Christmas light decorations. There was cheese sauce splattered on the victim’s doorstep as well. Police arrested a South St. Louis County man regarding this incident and issued him citations to appear in municipal court.

Tuesday, December 6

One of the playground slides in Hartry Park, 4100 Exeter Ave. had a two inch hole burned into the plastic. A city worker reported this property damage to police.

Police arrested a cab driver from Chesterfield on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer. Bond was set at $20,000. The cab struck a police officer directing traffic on northbound Laclede Station Road near Weil Avenue. The Webster Groves Police Officer was assisting Shrewsbury Police after a previous auto accident at that location. The officer had his flashlight and a reflective vest at the time of the accident. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover. The suspect was stopped by Shrewsbury and Webster Groves Police after he left the accident scene.

Wednesday, December 7

Police have four keys and a key chain that was turned into the police department as found property. They were found on the tennis courts next to the police department within the past two weeks. The keys can be claimed by contacting the police department’s evidence custodian at 4400 Shrewsbury Ave., 314-647-5656, with proof of ownership.
