Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Dog Bites Postal Worker

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Saturday, Aug. 6

Shrewsbury Police responded to the 7100 block of Murdoch Avenue and arrested an intoxicated Shrewsbury man on charges of domestic assault. There was a verbal and physical argument over money. The case was referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office for review.

A North County man was arrested for passing a stolen forged check at First Bank, 7435 Watson Rd. The suspect admitted to cashing the check for more than $700 in May.

A postal worker was bitten on the left leg by a dog in the 7800 block of Ravensridge Drive. The dog was turned over to St. Louis County Animal Control, and the dog’s owner was issued citations for allowing the dog to run at large and for having neither a vaccine record nor a Shrewsbury dog license.

Wednesday, Aug. 10

Police issued a citation to a Webster Groves man who was driving a blue Ford pickup truck that left the scene of an accident. This incident took place on eastbound Watson Road at Trianon Parkway at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The truck sideswiped a 1994 Honda and forced it into a ditch on the side of the road.

Thursday, Aug. 11

A Shrewsbury man was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest at 4 a.m. Thursday after a traffic stop at Murdoch Avenue and Laclede Station Road. Police discovered the man slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle. The suspect refused to provide a breath sample.The case will be forwarded to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
