Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Domestic Disturbances

Sunday, June 19

Shrewsbury police were called to investigate an attempted burglary in the 7500 block of Devonshire Avenue. The homeowner reported finding wooden door panels pried from the back door on Friday, June 17. There was no property reported stolen, and it did not appear as though anyone entered the home.

A Shrewsbury man was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident after his vehicle struck three parked vehicles on Weil Avenue at 2 a.m.

Police are looking for a Shrewsbury man who left the area after he assaulted his wife during a verbal argument. This incident took place at 2:15 p.m. in the 7100 block of Weil Avenue.

Police were called to a verbal domestic disturbance at a home in St. Charles Place at 10:15 p.m., and a man was admitted to a hospital to seek treatment for mental health issues.

Tuesday, June 21

A tank of anhydrous ammonia was reported stolen from Carr Lane Manufacturing, 4200 Carr Ln. The theft took place sometime overnight.

Someone pried open an apartment door in the 7700 block of Ravensridge Drive and emptied the contents of a purse on the floor. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and a debit card between 2:41 and 2:45 p.m.

Wednesday, June 22

At 4:30 PM Shrewsbury police were called to McDonald’s at 7259 Watson Rd. to investigate property damage to the manager’s vehicle on the parking lot. Police arrested two former employees—who happened to be siblings—who allegedly scratched the paint of the manager’s vehicle after they picked up their final paychecks.

Thursday, June 23

At 2:40 a.m. police responded to a disturbance in the 7100 block of Weil Avenue. The estranged husband of the victim violated the terms of an order of protection by going to the apartment complex and throwing rocks at the victim’s apartment window. Police searched the area, but could not locate the suspect. The Shrewsbury man is currently wanted for questioning in regards to this incident, and police are actively looking for him.

Friday, June 24

Police arrested a Sunset Hills man for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the 7500 block of Weil Avenue at 12:15 a.m.
