Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Post-Breakup Assault

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Monday, July 18

Shrewbury police were called to the 7500 block of Ravensridge Drive to investigate a domestic disturbance and report of property damage. The victim informed police that she broke up with her boyfriend. While she was seated inside her car, her former boyfriend kicked her car and broke the driver's side window. The woman suffered from minor abrasions on her legs. Police arrested the Shrewsbury man and issued him citations to appear in municipal court.

A Shrewsbury man was issued two citations for keeping a pit bull, which is a banned breed of dog in Shrewsbury, at his home, and for not possessing a dog license. The violation took place on Monday, July 18 at 10 a.m. in the 5000 block of Kain Drive. Police checked with the man on Wednesday, July 20, and the dog had been removed.

Tuesday, July 19

Police arrested a man from Mesa, AZ for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Eastbound Interstate 44, near Shrewsbury Avenue.

A resident of the 7700 block of Suffolk Avenue reported damage to the driver side of her parked 2005 Chevy Colbalt at 3:40 p.m. The striking vehicle left the scene without exchanging information. If anyone witnessed this incident, contact Shrewsbury Police at 314-647-5656.

Wednesday, July 20

Scrap copper fittings were reported stolen from the Ameren yard at 7215 Weil Ave. The theft took place sometime over the past month. Security cameras have been installed on the property.

Police investigated a theft from an insecure Jeep on the parking lot of , 7435 Watson Rd. The victim told police that he parked his vehicle on the lot about 8 p.m., and when he returned to it his Sony stereo and two snatch toolboxes had been stolen. The owner of the vehicle did not have the Jeep’s doors attached to the vehicle at the time of the incident. Police are looking for a red Chevy Blazer that a witness saw near the Jeep.

Thrusday, July 21

Shrewsbury Police are investigating thefts from two vehicles parked on the Power House Gym lot at 7435 Watson Rd. between 9 and 10 p.m. An MP3 player, a wallet, a debit card, $6 in cash and a drivers license were reported stolen. Police would like to remind everyone not to leave valuables inside of vehicles.
