Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Stolen Roses, Phil Mart Tantrum

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Tuesday, August 23

A resident found a green Huffy Mountain bicycle at the corner of St. Charles Place and Weil Ave, and he turned it over to police. The bike can be claimed at the Shrewsbury Police Department, 4400 Shrewsbury Ave. with the proper identification and proof of ownership.

Police issued a citation to an O’Fallon man for stealing a dozen roses from Florist, 7233 Watson Rd.

A North St. Louis City man was arrested for passing a stolen, forged check for $762.11 at at 7435 Watson Rd. The original incident took place on Saturday, May 7. The case was referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review of formal charges.

Police issued a citation to a Shrewsbury man for possession of marijuana after checking a suspicious vehicle parked next to a dumpster in the 7700 block of Ravensridge Drive

Wednesday, August 24

Police were called to , 7250 Lansdowne Ave. at 4 AM due to an angry customer. The suspect was upset that the clerk would not sell cigars to him without him showing identification for proof of his age. The suspect left the store and he tossed several bottles of windshield wiper fluid onto the parking lot from a display outside of the store.  Several bottles spilled onto the parking lot and he left the area prior to police arriving on the scene. Police are seeking the South St. Louis man for questioning regarding this incident.

Thursday, August 25

A resident in the 7300 block of Nottingham Avenue reported that someone opened a Lowe’s credit card account without her permission and she noticed unauthorized charges on her Macy’s card as well as her Nordstrom’s cards.
