Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Tree Vandal Hits Japanese Maple

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Friday, September 23

Shrewsbury police investigated property damage to a Japanese Maple Tree in the 7400 block of Williamsburg Colonial Lane. Someone cut several tree limbs off of the tree. This is the second time the tree sustained damage in since July. Police are reviewing video surveillance from a camera.

Update: Police were looking for a green Honda Civic that on the parking lot of , 7250 Lansdowne Ave. at 4 p.m. Monday, September 19.  The Honda was last scene traveling eastbound on Lansdowne Ave. after it left the scene of the accident without exchanging insurance information. A witness to this incident alerted police that the green Honda Civic returned to Phil Mart on Saturday, September 24 at 2 p.m. Police contacted the driver of the Civic, spotted the damage to his vehicle and issued him a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.

There was a domestic assault reported between a boyfriend and girlfriend in the 7700 block of Ravensridge Drive. The woman was arrested after it was determined that she was the primary aggressor and that she struck the man several times on his chest during the verbal argument. A citation was issued for her to appear in municipal court.

Wednesday, September 28

Update: On Friday, July 22 police investigated and . The suspect endorsed a computer generated fake check and deposited into her account at the 7205 Watson Rd. branch. The suspect immediately began withdrawing cash from her account and eventually her account was over $1,200 overdrawn. On Wednesday, September 28 police arrested the second suspect from South St. Louis City involved in this case. Formal charges are pending a review by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

A man from North St. Louis City was arrested at , 7233 Watson Rd., for stealing a bag of chips and Sharpie markers and having outstanding warrants for his arrest from a nearby police agency.
