Shrewsbury Police: Man Makes Off With 36 Cans of Red Bull

The incident was among those the Shrewsbury Police Department investigated from March 15-20.

Friday, March 15

  • Police investigated a shoplifting incident (36 cans of Red bull $68.97) at Dierbergs, at 2:50 p.m. Police developed a suspect and arrested the South St. Louis City man on Tuesday, March 19, at 12:05 a.m. After obtaining a confession the man was issued a citation to appear in municipal court.

  • At 12:30 a.m. police stopped a Subaru with expired plates in the 7200 block of Watson Road and arrested a South St. Louis City man for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was issued citations to appear in municipal court.
  • At 7:20 a.m., an off-duty Shrewsbury officer driving home from work saw three juvenile suspects that caused property damage by throwing rocks at a vehicle’s window in the 7100 block of Weil Ave. The officer notified the on-duty officers of the location and the three juveniles were taken into custody. Police discovered the juveniles also broke a window of a business, the Waterway Gas Station at 7201 Weil Ave. Two of the juveniles had been listed as a “runaways” from another police agency and all three juveniles were turned over to the proper authorities. 

Sunday, March 17

  • Police responded to 71XX Rhodes Ave. in the Village of Mackenzie, to investigate the report of a lost or stolen diamond ring and prescription medicine at 9 p.m. There was no forced entry into the home. On Thursday, March 21, police arrested a woman that resided in the home for a short period of time. Formal charges are pending a review of the case by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

  • A wallet, cash and credit cards were reported stolen from a purse belonging to a customer shopping at Deals between 11:13 and 11:40 a.m. The victim left her purse and wallet unattended in her cart for a brief period of time while she was shopping. The credit cards were used at a couple of auto parts stores in South St. Louis City. Police are continuing to investigate.

Wednesday, March 20

  • At 10 a.m., police arrested a man from South St. Louis City for having outstanding warrants and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 4500 block of Shrewsbury Ave.
