Shrewsbury Police: Man Punched, Bit Girlfriend

He's now held on $75,000 bond.

Sunday, July 14

  • A woman from south St. Louis City was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop for speeding 70 in a 40 MPH zone and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle in the 7500 block of Watson Road at 2:15 a.m.  The suspect’s breath sample was measured at .15 percent.  The woman was issued citations to appear in municipal court.
  • Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at Waterway Gas & Wash at 7 a.m. A suspect wearing dark clothing and coat, a black stocking cap, a blue bandana and armed with a shotgun approached an employee. The suspect stole an undetermined amount of money from the business safe and left the area in an unknown direction of travel.

  • Police arrested a man from south St. Louis City for domestic assault second degree (felony) after he punched and bit his girlfriend on her right arm after a verbal disagreement. This incident took place at 9:30 a.m. in the couple’s vehicle while it was parked in front of Deals, 7073 Watson Road. The suspect left the area on foot walking east on the parking lot and police located him in the 7000 block of Nottingham Place on an apartment complex parking lot. Due the suspect’s prior criminal history and being out on bond, due to an unrelated weapons charge, bond was set at $75,000 cash.  The suspect was taken to the St. Louis County Jail.
