Shrewsbury Police: Oldsmobile Stolen From Dierbergs Lot

Friday, June 21

  • Police were called to the 7600 block of Big Bend Boulevard to investigate a domestic assault.  A Maryland Heights man assaulted his girlfriend at her apartment in Shrewsbury after an argument.  The suspect left before the police got there.  Police contacted the man by cell phone and he eventually responded to the Shrewsbury Police Department. Police discovered the man was depressed and had suicidal thoughts, so he was transported to a local hospital for observation and treatment.

  • At 11 a.m. in the 7800 block of Chatwell Drive, a white woman driving a white sedan backed into a street light pole and knocked it to the ground.  After striking the pole, the woman inspected the damage and left the area without informing the apartment complex management.

Saturday, June 29

  • At 11:10 a.m. police investigated the theft of a 1996 Oldsmobile from the Dierbergs parking lot, 7233 Watson Road. The car was recovered three hours later, unoccupied, by Eureka Police at a strip mall near Six Flags. Police interviewed a man from north St. Louis County that was captured driving a vehicle stolen from Eureka. It is believed the man stole a car from Eureka after abandoning the car stolen from Shrewsbury.  Police continue to investigate.

  • At 9:20 a.m. police cited a man from South St. Louis County for trespassing and peace disturbance after he tried to interrupt a funeral service.  The suspect insisted on talking to the priest conducting the service, to seek money for gasoline for his car.  The man was asked to leave the area three times, but he refused.  Police discovered the man had over a ¼ tank of gas.  A passenger in the car had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for drinking in public from another police department, so he was arrested and turned over to that agency.

Tuesday, July 2

  • At 2:20 a.m. police arrested a Shrewsbury woman for improper lane use and driving while intoxicated in the 7700 block of Watson Road. The suspect’s breath sample was measured at .184 percent.
  •  At 4 a.m. police arrested a Barnhardt man for driving under the influence of drugs when police discovered him slumped over the steering wheel on a parking lot at 7435 Watson Road. Police seized blood samples from the suspect to determine the amount of alcohol and drugs in his system. Once the laboratory analysis has been conducted, police will seek formal charges from the municipal prosecuting attorney.
  •  An Apple I-Pad was reported stolen at the Power House Gym, 7435 Watson Road. The victim left the I-Pad unattended on a bench on Sunday, June 30, at 11 a.m.
