Shrewsbury Police: Woman Arrested for Prostitution

The incident was among those the Shrewsbury Police Department investigated from March 30 to April 5.

The following incidents took place in Shrewsbury last week:

Saturday, March 30

  • Police received a call to respond to Dierbergs, with reference to a stolen purse (wallet, cash, credit cards, driver’s license). The victim told police she accidently left her purse in a shopping cart on the parking lot when she finished loading her groceries in her vehicle  The woman realized she was missing her purse when she returned home at 9:40 a.m. Police searched the parking lot and the store, but could not locate the missing purse.
  • Police issued citations to a Brentwood woman for failing to yield at the intersection of S. Laclede Station Road. and Wilshusen Ave. and for Leaving the Scene of an Accident at 5:15 p.m.

 Sunday, March 31

  • Police issued citations to a Springfield, IL man for speeding (78 in a 60 MPH zone), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on eastbound Interstate 44 near Shrewsbury Ave. This traffic stop took place at 4:25 p.m.

Tuesday, April 2

  • A Shrewsbury woman was charged with prostitution and a Shrewsbury man was charged with promoting prostitution. Police had developed information about an unusual amount of foot and vehicle traffic at a residence at 51XX Lenox Ave. Shrewsbury Police conducted a joint investigation with the St. Louis County Police Department and the case was referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for a review of formal charges.

Wednesday, April 3 

  • Police arrested a man from Fenton at 11 a.m. on westbound Interstate 44 near Shrewsbury Ave. for speeding (71 in a 60 MPH zone), possession of controlled substances and resisting arrest. Formal charges are pending a review by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Thursday, April 4 

  • A woman reported her wallet missing (cash, credit and debit cards) while she was at Waterway Gas & Wash about 1 p.m.

Friday, April 5

  • Police arrested an Affton woman for speeding (55 in a 40 MPH zone) and Driving While Intoxicated in the 7700 block of Watson Road at 1:30 a.m. The woman refused to provide a breath sample and she was issued citations to appear in municipal court.
  • A Valley Park man was arrested for speeding (78 in a 60 MPH zone) and Driving While Intoxicated at westbound I-44 near Shrewsbury Ave. at 2:40 a.m. The suspect’s breath sample was measured at .172 percent and he was issued citations to appear in municipal court.
