a man made off with cash from , 9100 Gravois in Affton, after implying he had a weapon. Police thought they had him surrounded at the nearby Gardenville Masonic Temple, but in the end did not capture the culprit.

a wannabe bank robber was detained by a security guard at , 6969 South Lindbergh Boulevard. Police said the bank hired the security guard after several previous robberies. , police charged the arrested suspect, Brian J. Schappe, 27, of Florissant.

a man demanded money at Jefferson Bank, 5475 Southfield Center, near Ronnie's Cinema. A week later , 35 of Mexico, MO, claiming he was the "Logo Hat Bandit" who had perpetrated this and several other area bank robberies.

Commerce Bank, 4100 Rusty Road, was robbed. police charged Gary L. Walker, 24, with robbery in the first degree.

Four bank robberies in four weeks is a worrisome trend, but police made arrests in three of the four cases.
