Man Punched, Threatened Ex-Girlfriend With Shotgun, Police Say

Tyler Waters, 21, was on parole after pleading guilty to four counts each of theft and property damage in November 2010.

A South County man punched his ex-girlfriend and threatened her with a shotgun Feb. 9, St. Louis County Police said.

Tyler A. Waters, 21, of the 4400 block of Little Chief Drive in South St. Louis County, was charged Feb. 12 with second-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.

St. Louis County Police said Waters punched his ex-girlfriend in the face and threatened her with a black, pistol-grip shotgun. Waters is not allowed to possess a firearm because he's been convicted of a felony.

Waters was on parole with the Missouri Department of Corrections after pleading guilty in November 2010 to four counts of theft and four counts of property damage. He was sentenced to five years in prison, but was put on parole May 5, 2011.

Waters is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail for the domestic assault and weapons charges was set at $30,000, cash only.
