Woman Arrives Home to Find Stranger Carrying Her TV

St. Louis County Police arrested the man, who faces burglary and felony stealing charges.

A South County woman arrived home and walked into her living room Dec. 5 to find a stranger attempting to walk out with her television.

William Payne Kehr, 21, of the 7900 block of Fleta Street in South County, was charged Dec. 6 with first-degree burglary and felony stealing.

St. Louis County Police said Kehr had the television in his hands in the home in the 7700 block of Clevedon Street when the resident walked into her living room. The 36-inch LCD Samsung TV is valued at $650.

Kehr lives about two blocks from the woman’s residence. He was being held in St. Louis County jail on Tuesday. Bail was set at $50,000, and Kehr is to have no contact with the victim.
