Woman Charged With Prostitution Lured Customers Online

A Shrewsbury woman was taken into custody on April 2 after neighbors reported an unusual amount of foot traffic to police.

A woman arrested at a Shrewsbury home earlier this month used the Internet to connect with customers, CBS St. Louis reports.

Last week Patch reported that a Shrewsbury woman was charged with prostitution at a home on the 5100 block of Lenox Avenue on April 2. A Shrewsbury man was charged with promoting prostitution after police received information from neighbors about an unusual amount of foot and vehicle traffic to the house.

Shrewsbury Police spokesman Lt. Brian Catlett told CBS St. Louis "the computer aspect of it allows for people from 20, 25 miles away from here or more to come into the community..."

The case was referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for a review of formal charges, Shrewsbury Police said.
