61 Against, 24 For at New Library County Zoning Hearing

The soonest a vote could be taken by the planning commission is early September.

A new St. Louis County Library branch is proposed for the corner of Gravois and Musick, and Monday night the county planning and zoning commission heard public comments.

No minutes were kept of the hearing, but one report shows that the public is against the library at that location.

President of the Affton Community Involvement Association (AICA), Larry Stone, said four persons from the ACIA attended the hearing and reported that when a hand vote was called regarding having the library at Musick and Gravois that the results were 61 against and 24 for.

Gail Choate, with the planning department, said a planning commission meeting on Sept. 9 is the earliest a vote could be taken. The decision would then go to the St. Louis County Council.
