Salem Lutheran School Teacher Honored with Teaching Award

Salem Lutheran Teacher Honored with Award

Kathy Brown, fourth grade teacher at Salem Lutheran School, in Affton, was awarded the Jeremiah Award from Lutheran Association for Special Education (LASE) on April 17, 2013 in a ceremony in front of the entire student body.  The Jeremiah Award is presented to a general education teacher who has gone above and beyond to meet the unique education needs of students in the classroom, especially those students with disabilities.  Kathy is the first recipient of the award from LASE, an educational service agency that partners with Lutheran schools in the St. Louis area to meet the educational needs of children with disabilities and special needs.  Lori Christiansen, LASE Executive Director presented the award to Kathy for excellence in inspiring students to become lifelong learners, for her collaborative efforts with LASE special education teachers, and for giving her students “hope and a future.”
