Affton High School Students Projected Obama Win

The school's social studies department hosted a watch party Tuesday evening to raise money for a student trip to the 2013 inauguration.

Affton High School students enrolled in last year's Honors History class had the chance to sign up to travel to the 2013 Inauguration. While students were dismissed from classes for the day, the high school's Social Studies department hosted a watch party Tuesday night to help raise funds for the trip.

Junior David Jung said he was most interested in the presidential race because he feels it affects the most citizens as a whole.

The majority of students at the watch party predicted President Barack Obama's re-election at 9 p.m. (The race was called in favor of Obama around 10:30 p.m.)

"They're pretty irritating, and it doesn't change the way I want to vote," she explained.
