Lindbergh seniors Jill Harmon and Allison Krus were also named to the nine-player first team. Flyer junior Eleanor Lorenz was picked to the second team.

Northwest senior Alyssa Arnold was the other area player named to the Suburban West first-team. Lion senior Nicole Brueggemann was selected to the second team.

Fox senior Allison Brown and Mehlville senior Lauren Cliffe were second-team picks.

Rockwood Summit senior Monica Bollinger was the only area player named first team in the Suburban South Conference. Falcon sophomores Kaitlyn Bowen and Jamie Livaudais were picked to the second team as was Seckman senior Jordan McKinley.

Kirkwood outside hitter Jordan Berry was named the Player of the Year in the Suburban South Conference.

Cor Jesu senior Claire Carr was picked to the eight-player first team in the Metro Women's Athletics Association White Division team. Fellow Charger seniors Maura Fischer and Claire Sorenson were picked to the second team while senior Bria Buchheit was an honorable mention pick.

SOCCER

The stellar run of the Oakville soccer team fell one game short of a Class 3 championship Saturday.

It was an all-St. Louis championship Saturday with De Smet coming home with the championship trophy . Louis Berra and Scott Ladi scored first half goals for the Spartans.

FOOTBALL

That soccer game ended the fall season for area teams with no south squads advancing in football next weekend at the Edward Jones Dome.

However, St. Louis University High quarterback Trevor McDonagh set a new school record for passing yards in a game during a victory over De Smet in the regular season. McDonagh helped his team advance to the playoffs, where they lost Friday against CBC 66-28. The 6-foot, 3-inch senior from Oakville went 195 for 334 in passing with 29 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Patch Athlete of the Week: Oakville soccer goalie Alec McChesney in the state semifinal game at Blue Springs South High School. McChesney not only survived 80 minutes of play and 30 minutes of overtime, but blocked five shots in penalty kicks.
