Bayless Elementary Principal Announces Retirement

Gina Siebe will leave the district after the current school year.

Gina Siebe, principal of , has announced that she will retire from the district at the end of the current school year. She has served the Bayless School District since 2004. 

In addition to her duties as principal, Siebe also serves as the Bayless preschool director and supervisor of the district’s . She has worked in education for more than 30 years, previously serving as an instructional specialist and elementary teacher in other area districts.

“Gina Siebe will be greatly missed by the Bayless community,” said Maureen Clancy-May, superintendent of the Bayless School District. “She has been instrumental in her instructional leadership that has allowed elementary students and staff to perform at high levels.”

During Siebe’s time as principal of Bayless Elementary the school has seen significant gains in achievement in reading and language arts. Her school was named a “National School of Character” by the Character Education Partnership in 2010 and was twice named a “Missouri School of Character.”  She also helped the Bayless Preschool achieve and maintain accreditation from the state of Missouri. 

Siebe holds a doctorate in educational leadership from St. Louis University, as well as special certifications in character education from CHARACTERplus, the Parents as Teachers program and data teaming from the state of Missouri. She has had a number of articles published and made many presentations on the topics of teaching English language learners, character education, Parents as Teachers and more.
