CATS Crew Tailgates Football Game at Affton High

Friday night Affton High School's freshman transition program held a tailgate party at the first home football game of the year.

Friday night, freshman joined upperclassmen, teachers, and staff for a tailgate party before the first home football game of the season. The tailgate party was hosted by CATS crew, a freshman orientation team comprised of fellow students committed to helping freshmen be successful and involved.

Cougars Assisting Transitioning Students, or CATS crew, is a year-long freshman orientation program, and is based on the program out of California.

Students apply to be a part of the crew during the previous school year. They undergo an application process and an interview before being selected to be a part of the crew, and it is considered an honor to be chosen. Also, CATS crew members receive small perks as a senior, like first choice of lockers and parking spots.
