Girls on the Run Ready for Saturday Event

Girls from Concord and Sappington Elementary Schools practice for their big 5K race this Saturday.

Girls from 3rd through 8th grades from and schools were practicing last week for their big event this Saturday, the Girls on the Run 5K Race in downtown St. Louis.

The girls fanned out on the track around the football field to stretch and run the track to train for the Saturday event.

Girls on the Run is a non-profit program for girls whose mission is to "inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident, using an experience-based curriculum that integrates running."

Girls from the and school district have also been practicing and will be running on Saturday.
