Governor Nixon Congratulates Affton School District in High School Visit

Affton School District’s graduation rate and percentage of graduates who have gone on to higher education have both been consistently above the state average, and that distinction earned a visit to Affton High School from Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, according to a press release.

Recently the Affton School district scored a 94.3 on the 2013 Missouri School Improvement Program Annual Performance Report.

He visited Project Lead The Way Engineering and Bio-medical classrooms before speaking to the school in an assembly.

Nixon said good schools are the product of a network of educators and the community.

“I applaud the Affton School District for providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in college and beyond,” Nixon said. “As Governor, I will continue to strengthen our public schools and ensure that Missouri students have the resources needed to compete and win in today’s global economy.”
