Lindbergh Board of Education Celebrates Last Year's Achievements

The Lindbergh School District Board of Education honored the accomplishments of students, teachers and staff during the 2011-12 school year.

Awards, honors, medals—Lindbergh students, teachers and staff have seen it all this year. At the July meeting of the Board of Education, board members took advantage of the summer lull to honor the accomplishments of Lindbergh Flyers.

“I was just amazed at the things our students and staff were involved with in giving back to the community and to the world,” said board president Vic Lenz.

  • Andrew Bushway and Rachel Pavelka, both juniors at who were selected to march with the Bands of America National Honor Band in the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade. Andrew is a percussionist, and Rachel is in color guard.
  • Rounak Bera, the Sperreng Middle School seventh grader who won first place in the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics 2012 state math competition.
  • Alysa Smith, the Lindbergh High School senior who received the Special School District’s Rosemary Zander Award at the annual Commitment to Kids Banquet.
  • Nathan Comerio, the Lindbergh High School and South Tech High School junior who earned a first place gold medal in the SkillsUSA State Championships in welding sculpture.
  • Brendon Bequette, the Lindbergh High School senior who signed a letter of intent to play college volleyball for Missouri Baptist University.
