Welcome to Affton! Tell us about your new job. What will you be doing?

I will be teaching freshman and senior English classes at Affton High School.

Where did you come from? What background are you bringing to our schools?

I attended high school at Cor Jesu Academy, just down the road from Affton High School. I’m excited to be returning to the community I called home for 4 years. Last year, I taught Honors Language Arts I at Fox High School. I’m thrilled to be in Affton for this new year!

What are you most looking forward to this school year?

I am excited to be working with freshmen this year because freshman year is so full of promise – it’s such an exciting time! I’m personally excited to be teaching seniors for the first time and participating in such a fun time with them!

Tell us about your family. Who supports you?

I am very close to my immediate family, my parents and my younger brother and sister. I also have a great deal of support from my extended family, including an aunt and uncle who live in the Affton School District.

What is the most embarrassing song on your ipod?

I’d have to say it’s Party in the USA. My students last year listened to it as pump-up music before weekends or on Monday mornings.
