New Principals for Gotsch, Mesnier Schools
The Affton School District Board of Education approved the hire of Dr. Christine Power and Tina Been last week.
The Affton School District has announced the hire of two new principals for the 2013-2014 school year, though their faces aren't new to students. Dr. Christine Powers will move from her position as principal of Mesnier Primary School over to Gotsch Intermediate School; Mesnier Assistant Principal Tina Been will move up to principal.
Superintendent Dr. Steve Brotherton said "both Christine and Tina have a strong record of success in our schools and with our students" in a statement on the district website.
Their new positions go into effect on July 1, according to the district website. The hires were approved by the district's Board of Education on May 7.

Current Gotsch principal Brian Smith will take over assistant principal duties at Mesnier, according to the website.
