How many milk cartons does it take to build a beehive? Apparantly, the answer is 227.
Rogers Middle School students—and art teacher Mandi Tripoli—entered the "Made by Milk" carton construction contest, competing against schools across the country for thousands of dollars in prize money.

The school hopes to use the prize money to grow the garden and sustainability program at Rogers. Grand prize winners will win $5,000, and the top middle school each win $1,500. The entry with the most votes wins $2,500.
Tripoli and her students constructed their beehive sculpture out of 227 milk cartons, paint, glue and craft eyes.
"The more votes, the better," said school nurse and Patch blogger Kathy Beezley.
Voting closes December 7.
