Want to be a Lindbergh School Board Member?

The time is now to prepare for candidates to prepare for Lindbergh election.

Potential candidates for next year’s Lindbergh school board election should prepare now to file their intent to pursue one of two open seats on the board.

Candidates may file between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning Dec. 13 through Dec. 16, Dec. 20 through Dec. 22, Dec. 27 through Dec. 29, and Jan. 3 through Jan. 6, Jan 9 through Jan. 13, and Jan. 17 until 5 p.m.

Current board members Kenneth Fey and Mark Rudoff are up for re-election in the April 3, 2012 election. Fey first joined the board in 2003, and Rudoff in 1999.

Rudoff won a fourth term in spring 2011 as he ran unopposed to fill a one-year term.

Lindbergh Superintendent Jim Simpson said such positions make a big difference in the classroom and in the community.

“We think being a school board member is extremely important for our community, and we welcome residents to pursue that,” Simpson said.

To be eligible to run for the office, candidates must:

• be a U.S. citizen,

• be 24 years of age or older,

• be a taxpaying resident of Lindbergh School District, and

• have resided in Missouri at least one year prior to the election.
