Name: Morgan Brust
This week, we're letting Morgan tell her own story. Here's how she describes her background, activities and accomplishments:
My name is Morgan Brust, I am 17 years old and the second oldest in my family of six kids. I was born in Saint Louis and homeschooled until I was 13 years old and started attending public school at Rogers Middle School in the 7th grade. I am currently a senior at Affton High School. At Affton, throughout my high school experience I have been involved in many groups and clubs including Mathletes, TREND, National Honor Society, Choir, Theatre Club, Thespian Society, HiStep, Student Council and A+ Program. I also have participated in Thespian Conference for four years, Poetry Out Loud for three years, won second place school wide in 2010, and district auditions for Women’s Choir for two years and got a two last year when we auditioned for Solos and Ensembles. I also have done school announcements for one year, lettered in choir for three years, and am currently ranked 4th in my class, Class of 2012. At this time, I also hold leadership positions as president of Thespian Society, Director of Fall production for Theatre Club, Treasurer of National Honor Society and President of Choir.
Key to Awesomeness:
The key to my awesomeness is my wonderful parents and my love and dedication to God. My parents raised me with very strong religious values and beliefs that have taught me to always do my best and to really take education seriously. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and truly have a strong faith in God, which is the reason why I am the person I am today. I love God, and I love to serve Him, and I know that when I need help, He will always be there for me. He has gotten me this far and the least I can do it to give back by helping my friends and my community.
