A committee of parks supporters studied the St. Louis County Parks system and endorsed a tax increase proposal. The measure must pass through the county council, where Councilman Steve Stenger said there is not a funding problem with the parks.

Here's an unofficial result tally of the August Primary in Mehlville, Oakville, Affton and Lemay.
The 93rd District represents parts of Lemay and Affton; Bob Burns received 61 percent of the vote.
The two candidates will vie for the newly-drawn State Senate district, which includes South County, Webster Groves, Maplewood and Brentwood.
Republican Cloria Brown and Democrat Vicki Englund will vie for the 94th District, covering Mehlville and parts of Affton for the third time.
Here's what you need to know about what's on the ballot in Affton and Shrewsbury.
Brown has represented Mehlville since 2010 and is running for re-election.
Stenger would challenge current County Executive Charlie Dooley.
