Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in River City Casino Parking Garage

The suspect took the 63-year-old woman's purse and then fled in her car. Police later spotted the vehicle, chased it into North County and arrested four juveniles.

A 63-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint Friday night at a parking garage at River City Casino at 777 River City Casino Dr. The woman told St. Louis County police that the suspect displayed a gun and took her purse and 2012 Hyundai Sonata. She and her 61-year-old friend were not injured.  Information on the vehicle was broadcast to surrounding police departments. Police later spotted the vehicle, chased it into unincorporated North County and arrested four juveniles, who were taken to the St. Louis County Juvenile Justice Center. The stolen items were recovered, but gun was not found at the scene. Police are continuing to investigate.

Two Face Shrewsbury Armed Robbery Charges in String of Holdups

The men also face charges in Crestwood, Mehlville and Brentwood.

Two men face criminal charges after police said they took a woman’s purse and cell phone during an armed robbery in the Dierbergs Market parking lot in Shrewsbury May 15. Curtis Edwards, 28, of the 200 block of Midway Avenue in Kirkwood, and Markele Prince, 17, both were charged with first degree robbery and armed criminal action. It’s the latest in a string of armed robbery charges against the two men, although others also were involved in hold ups in other areas. Edwards has been charged in four other armed robberies last May in St. Louis County. Prince faces two other first-degree robbery charges. In the Shrewsbury robbery, police said Edwards chose the victim in the Dierbergs parking lot, 7233 Watson Road, and drove a car up alongside …

One Purse Snatching Suspect Arrested in Crestwood

The 17-year-old is believed to be involved with a group that also stole a woman's purse in Shrewsbury.

Crestwood police have arrested a man they believe is connected to a string of armed robberies that included a purse snatching last Tuesday in the parking lot of the Mackenzie Pointe Dierbergs in Shrewsbury and another on the Kohl's parking lot in Crestwood on May 12. The 17-year-old was arrested without incident in the 3800 block of Wyoming in St. Louis City. The suspect will not be identified until formal charges are filed with the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney's office. The robbery at Kohl's occured at 10:43 a.m. when a 32-year-old female customer was approached on the parking lot by two men in a green Chevrolet Impala. Mackenzie Pointe Muggers Suspected in String of Area Holdups

St. Louis County police have released photos of four individuals they suspect of robbing women at gunpoint on Tuesday afternoon at the Mackenzie Pointe Dierbergs parking lot, on Friday morning at the Kmart on Lemay Ferry Road and Saturday at Kohl's in Crestwood. One suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall with short hair and eyeglasses. The other three are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s. The men also are suspected in connection with robberies in North County, police said. The suspects have been seen driving a dark green, early 2000s four-door Chevrolet Impala with a sunroof and spoiler. Shrewsbury Police Hunt Two After Dierbergs Parking Lot Robbery

The armed men were driving a green Chevrolet Impala.

Shrewsbury police are on the hunt for two suspects that allegedly held up a victim in the Dierbergs parking lot today around 4 p.m., according to a St. Louis County police source. The two men were in their mid-20s and and displayed a hand gun. They were driving a green Chevrolet Impala. Dierbergs is located at 7233 Watson Road in Shrewsbury. What I Learned From My Near Mugging

A few pointers I came up with after finding my martial arts training put to the test.

The other week I was on vacation, camping in the Catskills and visiting friends in New York City. I was on my last day in town, headed to lunch in Manhattan, when a young man sat down next to me in the subway station. “Pass me that iPhone or I’ll shoot you in the gut,” he said to me quietly. I had my phone in my hand, checking my route. He wore a blue hoodie and sagging sweat pants. His hands were in his front hoodie pocket, and he told me he had a gun.
