Students at Lindbergh Early Childhood Education wore pink crowns and shirts to support Campbell Crask, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Boys and girls in the Gator classroom at Lindbergh Early Childhood Education donned pink crowns March 13 to show their support for classmate Campbell Crask, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia, according to a news release from the Lindbergh School District. Campbell’s family learned of their 3-year-old daughter’s diagnosis on Halloween 2012, when she came down with "what appeared to be a harmless tummy ache," according to the release. Since then, the Crasks’ friends and family have rallied to support the family through their journey of hospital visits, chemotherapy, missed work days and mounting medical bills. Money raised will help pay Mike Duerr’s medical bills.
A bowling benefit supporting Mike Duerr, of Affton, will be held 3 - 7 p.m. Sunday at Saratoga Lanes, 2725 Sutton Blvd. in Maplewood. Duerr has been battling lymphoma since January. According to his sister Lynn Cummings, who is organizing the benefit, he has undergone chemo and radiation therapy. Cummings has recently donated bone marrow to her brother. Money raised from the benefit will be used to help pay for Duerr’s mounting medical bills and to offset the three months Duerr has spent without income while hospitalized. The benefit will include nine-pin no-tap bowling for $40 per person. The tournament pays prizes to the top five competitors.
