The petition campaign to bring a Trader Joe's to South St. Louis County went multimedia this week as founder Carol Boss released a two-minute video aimed at the specialty grocery chain. "I thought Trader Joe's is a great fit for the area, for the types of people that are here," Boss, of Affton, says in the video. Boss launched her campaign to attract Trader Joe's to her home neighborhood last month after she heard her grocer, the Sappington Farmers' Market, was closing. Boss will mail the petition signatures she's gathered online and on paper to the Trader Joe's offices and to the store's local real estate broker. As of Sunday night, her online petition had nearly 980 signatures.
Carol Boss and her fellow Trader Joe's believers have gathered more than 1100 signatures, shot a video, scheduled an event - all to bring the grocery store to South St. Louis County.
