Community Pulls for Dolans in Deck the House Contest

The house that "glows," as one comment remarked on Patch, took fifth nationally. See how Affton and beyond pulled for the Dolans.

It’s well known that Pat and Denise Dolan decked their house so well that they took fifth-place in Patch’s Deck the House Contest. The Dolans' decorating job inspired a little engine that could attitude when they landed in the 24 finalists. Comments even invoked the mythical Rally Squirrel in the effort to win the $100,000 prize for the Affton School District. Yard signs, the Affton School District, local organizations and TV news all encouraged voting. (By the way, we hear yard signs are still out there. How to Vote to Help Affton Schools Win $100K

The Dolan house is doing well in the Deck The House finals, but Affton needs more votes to take the lead

As of Thursday morning the Dolan house from Affton-Shrewbury Patch has over 2500 votes in our nationwide Deck The House contest, putting it in the top five. The leading entry in Davis, CA, has over 7000 votes, but there are still several days left to vote and hopefully win a $100,000 donation for the Affton School District. The top 24 finalist entry was submitted by Denise Dolan of Laclede Station Road. You can still see the house, just south of Watson Road.
