Affton Woman Is Gaga Over 'Gone With the Wind'
The upcoming anniversary has inspired Rita Kiry-Ryan to dust off her collection of "Gone With the Wind" memorabilia.
Rita Kiry-Ryan has read Gone With the Wind so many times it's embarrassing to count. But it is her collection of memorabilia that proves the Affton resident is more than just a casual fan. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the 1936 publishing of Gone With the Wind. To celebrate, she decided to take some of her collection out of the boxes she stores them in. "All of my collectibles are Rhett and Scarlett," Kiry-Ryan said. "I just loved the romance of the story." The split-level home she shares with her husband, Tom Ryan, owner of Thomas Ryan Contracting, and their children, Tom and Jenny, a senior and sophomore, respectfully, at Lindbergh High School is filled with Gone With The Wind collectibles.
