Affton Men Nabbed Jewelry From South County Home, Police Say

Danijel Colic and Hajro Velic, of Affton, were charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and felony theft.

Two Affton men pulled over by St. Louis County Police Tuesday were found to have jewelry stolen in a burglary at a South County home earlier in the day, police said. A witness gave investigators a description of the men, St. Louis County Police said. Danijel Colic, 19, and Hajro Velic, 20, both of the 6700 block of Highland House Court in Affton, were charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. The two men are neighbors. St. Louis County Police said Colic and Velic entered a home in the 10900 block of Cosmos Drive, just south of Grant’s Farm. The two stole several pieces of jewelry, including pins, earrings, necklaces, a bracelet and a wrist watch, police said. The items were valued at a total of $800. A witness …

Pair Charged With Stealing $10,800 in Items From South County Home

St. Louis County Police said the two men stole a wedding ring set, other jewelry and two iPods.

Two men are accused of stealing items valued at $10,800 from a South County home Thursday in the Lakeshire area. St. Louis County Police said Andrew Von Feldt, 23, drove Jeffrey Putney, 24, around the neighborhood knocking on doors in attempt to break into unoccupied homes. Police said the two men entered a home in the 9900 block of Knollshire Drive  and stole a diamond wedding ring set, two iPods and jewelry. Putney, of the 10600 block of Meath Drive in South County, and Von Feldt, of Pevely, each were charged Friday with second-degree burglary and felony theft. Bail was set at $15,000 each for Putney and Von Feldt. Von Feldt also was charged Friday for receiving stolen property in a separate incident.  St. Louis County Police said he …

Jewler to the Cardinals Talks Baseball During NLCS

The Shane Co. has been the jeweler to the St. Louis Cardinals for 13 years.

The Shane Co. jewelry store, in Brentwood now, and moving to Olivette in early 2013, has been the official jeweler to the St. Louis Cardinals for 13 years. The store has been in St. Louis for 15 years. Rordan Shane said in spite of Shane Co.’s relationship with the St. Louis Cardinals, he's not a Cardinals fan. “I would be lying if I didn’t say that being a Colorado boy, the Rockies are my hometown team,” he said. “That being said, I went to several Cards games last year, and several the year prior.  I brought a group of 12 with me last year, all Shane Co. associates.  I also attended the amazing game two of the World Series last year, and was fortunate to watch from the team box,” he said. Affton Teen Stole $4,000 in Jewelry, Sold to Gold Buyer, Police Say

St. Louis County Police said the burglary in the 8700 block of New Hampshire was Sept. 14.

An Affton teenager is accused of breaking into a home, stealing and selling jewelry in a Sept. 14 incident. Devin Brower, 18, of the 5300 block of Willard Avenue in Affton, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. St. Louis County Police said the resident came home for lunch Sept. 14 and discovered several pieces of jewelry, with total value estimated at $4,000, had been stolen from the home in the 8700 block of New Hampshire. Police said they discovered the jewelry had been sold to a gold buyer in the city of St. Louis. Brower was arrested and accused of the burglary and theft. Police: Burglar in Affton Spotted by Neighbor, Caught with Socks on Hands

Police caught the man inside the home he is accused of burglarizing, according to ta police report.

A witness spotted a man raising a screen and crawling through a window at   about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Affton, enabling police to catch the man inside the house. St. Louis County Police said they found Dzevad Bektic inside a house in the 9500 block of Tiber Drive wearing socks on his hands. He had $8 in change and a jewelry box with jewelry valued at $560, according to the report. Bektic, 19, of the 800 block of Cormar Drive in Lemay, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. Bail was set at $30,000, cash only. South County Man Stole Neighbor's Jewelry Over Six Weeks, Police Say

Police said the neighbor saw the man going through a jewelry box in his bedroom and discovered the jewelry was missing.

A South County man faces criminal charges after police said he’d been stealing jewelry from his next-door neighbor for six weeks. Heinrich K. Mueller, of the first block of Sappington Acres Drive in the unincorporated Sappington area, was charged Saturday with first-degree burglary and felony stealing. St. Louis County Police said the neighbor saw him going through a jewelry box in his bedroom at about 1:53 p.m. Friday. The neighbor then looked through the jewelry box and realized several pieces of jewelry were missing. Police said Mueller had been taking jewelry since Aug. 1, including a wedding ring set, necklaces, bracelets and several rings. Mueller is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond. For more crime …
