Local Food Featured at Sampling Sunday
Shoppers experience locally produced food and treats at Sappington Farmer's Market.
Hungry customers crowded around sample-filled booths at Sappington Farmers' Market for "Sampling Sunday" on December 19. The event featured over ten local food producers, including Marcoot Jersey Creamery Artisan Cheese (Greenville, IL), Patric Chocolate (Columbia, MO) and La Cosecha Coffee (St. Louis, MO). In addition, the store held a customer drawing for a free Christmas gift basket. Each vendor's story is unique, along with the food that they brought to share with the shoppers. Amy Marcoot of Marcoot Jersey Creamery, for example, works with her parents and other family members on their dairy farm to produce artisan cheese.
